    May quá, em tìm được một bản PDF : http://vallomasok.hu/art.pdf

    Có đoạn này nhắc đến Ram :

    Nhưng không thấy chỗ nào nói là Ram càng ít thì nghe càng hay ạ ? :roll:

    Em cũng thấy có chỗ hơi mâu thuẫn, một mặt chú này đòi underlock, một mặt đòi RAM có lacenty thật thấp, như vậy hơi bị ngược vì với SDRAM thì lacenty time tỉ lệ nghịch với clock rate.

    Em chỉ hiểu được 2 ý chính:
    1/ RAM tối ưu khoãng từ 170 -> 256Mb, do giảm điện năng tiêu thụ. Ở đây không thấy đề cập đến âm thanh hay, do nó có thể được hàm ý, hoặc nhắc ở 1 đoạn nào khác chăng?
    2/ Chất lượng RAM ảnh hưởng đến chất lượng âm thanh.

    Không phải như vậy ạ.
    Chú khoai tây này nói là sau khi đã tối ưu hệ thống thì dung lượng ram còn free là 170MB, nghĩa là hệ điều hành và phần mềm chỉ chiếm có 86MB.
    Một bài hát khi load toàn bộ vào Ram sẽ tốn cỡ 50M, riêng em dùng Amarra thì thấy nó chơi đến hơn 100MB Ram cho một file WAV 4 phút.
    Như vậy khi nghe nhạc với cấu hình 256MB of RAM thì sẽ sử dụng trên 80% bộ nhớ.
    Em đoán rằng sở dĩ khuyên dùng 256MB là vì thời điểm năm 2007 thì ram DDRII 256MB có giá hợp lý nhất.

    Trong đoạn này chú tây này khuyên một điều rất đúng là chỉ nên dùng một thanh ram, để chạy ở chế độ single channel, vì khi chạy ở chế độ dual channel sẽ làm tăng lacenty.

    Bác cho hỏi tiếp:
    Nếu dùng 1 thanh RAM, để chạy ở chế độ single channel thì mình chỉnh chế độ single channel ở ngoài BIOT hả bác?
    Theo cách tối ưu, về phần sound VGA, ở ngoải BIOT mình sẽ disable sound VGA (rời), chỉ để lại sound VGA onboard?

    Khi cắm một thanh là nó chạy single mode rồi ạ.

    Trong phần VGA họ có nói dùng VGA onboard và để bộ nhớ dành cho video là 16MB để tiết kiệm bộ nhớ chính.

    Em vừa mới setup ngoài BIOT như bác PDAlove hướng dẫn để giảm nguồn tiêu thụ thấp nhất. Máy em loại PC, có VGA card rời. Ra ngoài BIOT em chỉnh như sau:
    1/On-Board LAN [Enable] ---> Em chỉnh [Disable]
    2/Onboard 1394 [Enable] ---> Em chỉnh [Diasble]
    3/IGD Apertive Size [256Mb] ---> em chỉnh còn [128Mb]
    4/Primary Video Adaptore [Auto] ---> Em chỉnh [Int graphics (IGD)]
    =====> Lưu lại rồi thoát.
    Khởi động máy ---> Màn hình đen thui :roll: . Thử tháo đầu cắm LCD ra khỏi CPU thì màn hình có thông báo đại khái đã tháo VGA màn hình gì đấy. Cắm lại thì đen thui.
    Em thử restart máy, cố gắng vào BIOT để chỉnh lại như từ đầu, nhưng màn hình cứ đen thui... :( . Các bác chỉ em với...

    Sau 1 hồi lọ mọ, em tìm ra nguyên nhân là chổ cắm từ LCP vào CPU, em cắm vào lổ của AVG Card rời (trong khi em đã disable ngoài BIOT). Em tháo ra, rồi cắm vào cổng của AVG onboard thì thấy được màn hình :D .

    Lần đầu làm Disable card VGA rời, nên em không để ý, nhưng lúc đầu cũng nghi nghi cái chổ VGA, nên em đánh dấu đỏ. Tính đem ra thợ sửa lại rồi chứ.

    Các bác thân "Better results are gained with 256MB ValueRAM vs 512MB HyperX" đoạn này cho thấy RAM càng ít càng tốt về âm thanh. Ngoài ra, hồi đó mình đọc rất nhiều tài liệu các nơi (nơi tập trung nhiều ý nhất là tài liệu của Cics, tuy nhiên bài viết được up date nhiều qua 1 năm nay, có thể có nhiều ý mới, các bác góp ý tiếp cho em nhé), nên không nhớ chính xác nơi nào nói nữa, sorry các bác

    Bác ơi phải hiểu theo cả đoạn chứ sao lại ngắt đoạn như thế ạ :
    Chỗ này nó nói về power consumes chứ đâu phải về âm thanh ạ ?

    Máy em xài 2 thanh RAM, 1Gb/Ram. Hôm qua em tháo thử 1 thanh ra, còn lại RAM 1Gb cho máy. Em nghe thử thì chưa thấy rõ lắm về sự khác biệt âm thanh. Có thể do em còn xài sound onboard, nên chưa nhận ra sự khác biệt, hoặc do RAM vẫn còn cao 1Gb. Bác PDAlove đã thử cảm nhận bằng tai chưa, hoặc đo độ nhiễu khác biệt khi có khác biệt về dung lượng RAM chưa?

    Có lẽ bác đúng zeze . để mình xem lại vụ này
    Mình chưa test xem thay đổi RAM với cùng loại RAM xem âm thanh thay đổi ra sao vì không có.
    RAM low latency không phải để giảm điện năng tiêu thụ mà là RAM thật tốt thì mới có low latency, Chất lượng RAM ảnh hưởng nhiều đến âm thanh, các bác để dành mỗi loại 1 cây, đổi chất âm như đổi bóng đèn cho vui

    Các bác thân, mình có tìm được 1 đoạn nói về việc upgrade PSU và nhận xét về hiệu quả của việc này (lưu trong máy mình)

    In Reply to: RE: cPlay - the open source high-end audio player using ASIO posted by cics on May 05, 2008 at 12:31:58
    Hi all,

    After reading posts of Gstew (linear PSU), Ryelands (extra caps) and others on power supply (PS) improvements I decided to try their recommended PS improvements on my cics memory player

    I can really recommend GStew (linear PSU) and Ryelands (extra caps) suggestions on PS improvements. All the suggested improvements on the PS made (sometimes big) improvements in sound quality (SQ) in my setup.

    First my setup:
    Zalhman case, GA-G31M-S2L, E7300, 1Gb HyperX, Samsung 500Gb, passive nexus cooler, LynxL22 dig i/o, -> xlr AES/EBU -> Lavry Back DA10 -> xlr mogami gold -> K+H O300.
    DVD, HDD, USB separately powered as per cics recommendations.
    But i didn’t like the thought of running 230 AC (!!!) Volt wires for the Granite PSU’s inside my PC. So I choose an different way too power them. I use an external desktop PSU. (Search for number 998343 – 89 in the search box at http://www.conrad.nl. It’s not possible to directly link in to their site)

    Like Ryelands suggests, if one buys a few of these extension cables
    http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=34109
    http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=98854
    It’s really easy to swap suggested PS improvements in (and out) place. Swapping in and out, also makes it very easy to hear the improvements in sound quality (SQ)

    -> Adding a linear power supply the easy way ( very much recommended !! )
    The SQ improvement I most recommend is a linear PSU on the P4 pin. Because GStew decided to build his own linear PSU, its looks very difficult too implement. But if one buys a 12 V (low ripple !) linear bench power supply / linear lab power supply, than its real easy and simple too implement. Within 15 minutes the job is done !
    And whow ……what a difference in SQ.
    Recommended ! Thank you GStew for the suggestion and inspiration.

    A simple, but good (low ripple ! ) 12V linear bench power supply / linear lab power supply will cost about 30 – 50 euro and a P4 extension cable 3 euro’s or so.

    About the aesthetics. Almost all simple linear power supply’s look like this one:
    http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=231
    But since the PC, the external desktop PSU and the linear PSU are storedSo very ugly. in a board. I don’t mind

    -> Adding 4700 uF caps (to each of) the +12 V P4 PS lines on the ATX PSU.
    (see also Ryelands post) Adding caps to the P4 power line of a ATX power supply also gives a nice improvement in SQ. And - I really hate to say this- I do hear a very slight (!) difference in SQ between ordinary (brandless) caps and audiophile (Audyn) caps.
    I soldered the caps directly to a P4 extension cable. Again one might think it’s a hassle. But again it’s surprisingly easy to solder the caps directly to the P4 extension cable and swap the P4 extension cable in place (preparations, soldering, swapping in ect will take 40 – 50 minutes). Because it’s easy to swap the P4 extension cable in and out, one can easy hear the SQ differences.
    Note: the SQ differences where much (!) bigger on the Zahlman PSU (with I used first) than adding the caps to the ANTEX Aerth watts 430 PSU P4 PS-line (which I use at the moment)

    ->Adding the caps to the linear P4 PS-line made no difference in SQ at all !!

    -> Adding 1000 uF caps to the P24 PS lines.
    Al though its more time consuming it’s also easy to solder caps (to the P24 power lines.
    It took me 2 hours to complete the job. It’s a precise and a bit boring job. Soldering so many little caps to al those wire’s.
    Luckily no caps are needed on the ‘power good line’ (grey), ‘power supply on’ (green) , ‘standy line’ (purple), and the white line (- 5 V).
    Swapping in and out the capped P24 extension cable gave some (but not much) SQ improvements.

    -> Anyone tried powering pin 11 (+12V) , 12 (+3,3V) , 23 (+5V) and 24 (GND) separately ?
    When mobo’s needed more power the ATX P20 power pin was extended tot a ATX P24 power pin. But what do these extra 3 lines power ?
    I have the impression that pin 11, 12, 23, and 24 (on the ATX P24 power pin) are used to power the sphericals in the PCI(e) slots.
    When I soldered 4700 uF caps (in stead of 1000 uF caps) to these pins, the relays on my Lynx L22 soundcard start ‘to rattle like snakes’ during boot-up. The relays stay quiet (no rattle sounds) with 1000 uF caps. This brings me to the thought that the power on the 11, 12, 23 pins is used to feed the PCI(e) slots. So powering them separately might also give SQ improvement.

    Has anyone tried powering pin 11 (+12V) , 12 (+3,3V) , 23 (+5V) and 24 (GND) separately ?
    Some try to feed PCI cards with extra power lines directly soldered to various points on the PCI card. But may be its more easy to feed the 11, 12, 23 pins with extra power.

    Summary:
    1. The biggest SQ improvement in my setup was: a linear PSU on the P4 pin.
    (a must do !! Very much recommended)
    2. When not using a linear PSU for the P4 pin but an ATX PSU:
    ad the caps on the P4 pin like Ryelands suggests.(a very nice SQ improvement)
    3. If you have the time: also put caps on the P24 line. (some improvement)

    ->Final thoughts on power supplying and consuming power.
    As already suggested by some other inmates here (I can’t find there posts anymore because I forgot there names): lowering the power consumption might give better sound quality because of less demand on the PSU and the need to deliver less power to various parts.

    Hence: optimizing the power supply could make the need for lowering the power consumption less important or even irrelevant.

    Personality I don’t hear any SQ differences in my setup, when the CPU is running at 0,8 volt, 0,9 volt of 1.0 volt or 1,15 Volt. In my setup, it al sounds the same to me. Now mind you: I do hear minute differences in sound quality in my setup:
    - when I leave my keyboard connected tot the PS2 connection on the motherboard,
    - between various cPlay releases
    - after the kernel optimizations,
    - when giving priority to background services, disable ling services,
    - with different RAM timings
    - when adding caps, adding a linear PSU,
    - when powering DVD, HDD and USB separately, etc, etc
    I hear all these minute differences in SQ.
    There is only one I don’t hear: that’s under-volting the CPU. In my setup (with 3 PSU’s) I don’t hear any change in SQ…. sorry.

    Do other inmates really hear SQ differences between various levels of under-volting?

    LynxL22 dig i/o -> Lavry Black DA10 -> Mogami Gold -> Klein & Hummel O300

    +++++
    Gửi các bác tham khảo
    Chú thích: P4 là đầu cắm nguồn 4 đầu, P20/P24 là đầu cắm nguồn 20/24 đầu (trên mainboard), P là Power
    Cap là gắn thêm tụ điện (capacitor)

    Các cụ cho em hỏi nếu stream nhạc từ PC/laptop sang 1 thiết bị ngoại vi thông qua wifi/ethernet như apple TV, airport express, Sonos, Squeezebox,... thì vấn đề nâng cấp nguồn PC có còn đóng vai trò gì nữa không? Các vấn đề về jitter của những thiết bị này có thể giảm (filter) bằng reclock ngoài của Dac hoặc 1 thiết bị reclocker trung gian nào đó như Empirical Audio Pace-Car???

    Dùng PC coi chừng sướng.
    Em thấy có cái ổ SSD xài cho PC, tốc độ đọc ghi cỡ 800MB/s, tiêu thụ điện có 8W.
    Em dùng Lap nên chịu không thì em cũng múc luôn. Hic.

    Vậy thay vì đầu tư nguồn, nâng ram, soundcard, ..... làm cách kia có phải đơn giản không ah? Em mua cái ATV2 có $110. Vậy suy cho cùng, nếu vấn đề là jitter thì có rất nhiều cách để filter.

    Câu hỏi nữa: nếu em dùng PC/laptop xuất âm qua USB sang những USB Dac dạng "không đồng bộ" (Asynchronous USB DAC ) thì có cần nâng cấp nguồn không? Những Dac này thì dac chủ động xử lý được jitter ở mức cực thấp. Wavelength, Ayre (QB9), ... là những hãng đi đầu về cái này.
    Cuối cùng là đầu tư mua dây hàng hiệu glass Toslink, coaxial hay USB để tối ưu chất lượng tín hiệu.

    Dùng thiết bị phát qua Wifi cũng có hạn chế của nó đấy ạ. Em chưa thấy có thiết bị nào kiểu này có sampling rate quá 96Khz. Hơn nữa jitter không phải chỉ có ở phần DAC, trong phần Wifi transmiter/receiver cũng có nữa. Tránh vỏ dưa gặp vỏ dừa thôi, chỉ là chưa biết vỏ nào đau hơn :lol:

    Theo em nâng cấp nguồn là cần thiết, cái này đúng với tất cả các thiết bị audio.
    Những loại dùng USB sẽ bj ảnh hưởng ít bởi nguồn máy tính vì hầu như đều dùng nguồn ngoài, nhưng USB Host thì vẫn là thuộc cái máy tính thôi.

    Nếu dùng PC mà dùng sound interface thì chơi luôn em này :
    Lúc này chỉ cần cấp cho nó cài nguồn thật ngon là đủ.

    Đúng là cái ATV2 của em chỉ transfer 16/44.1 tức là chất lượng CD thôi.
    Em tin là 99% nguồn nhạc của chúng ta là CD.
    Nhạc hi res 24/96 chắc chắn có ưu việt, nhưng nguồn cũng hạn chế. Em cho đây là hạn chế nhỏ của ATV.
    Em đã thử chất lượng wav của ATV qua dac của wadia 830 so với chính 830 thì nó thua sút khá ít, phải rất tập trung mới phân biệt được, điều đó làm em hơi ngạc nhiên. Nếu đầu tư 1 bộ dac tốt, và dây glass toslink em tin chất lượng sẽ vượt wadia.

    Về vụ Asynchronous USB DAC nhờ cụ Nhép nghiên cứu thêm giúp em, em không phải dân KT, đọc cũng hiểu láng máng thôi.
