Ở đây cũng chưa ai thử qua 2 cái thùng này nên em nghĩ cần những góp ý quý báu của bác Unison, em có trao đổi thì biết thiết kế của bác Unison có khác thùng của hãng, bác Unison có thể phân tích cho bọn em biết điểm mạnh về thùng 4350 DIY của bác ko ạ.

Hinh nhu minh co goi cho ai mot ban ve bang tay cua 4350, khong biet co phai cho bac Phuong Thu khong? Ban ve 4350 nay tu dau ra vay? Thung nay lam lau qua nen bay gio phai coi lai may tieng dong ho moi nho khac nhau nhung gi.
Thung 4350 cua JBL hoi khac cua minh la vi minh dung 414 thay the cap JBL 12in (hinh nhu la 2202 thi phai, quen mat so may roi). Cap 4350V2 lam cho nguoi ban lai khac nhieu vi dung 515 thay vi 414. Tinh ra moi thung moi khac. May bac muon lam 4350 thi phai biet truoc la se dung midbass gi thi moi modify thung cho dung. Hinh nhu cai 2202 original rat kho kiem, minh co mua mot cap Alnico 2 nam roi ma phai tra gan $400. Cach day vai thang nguoi da ban minh cap nay nang ni minh ban lai, mac du minh khong dung , nhung khong ban vi rat hiem.

Chào Bác Unison845, Anh chưa gởi cho Em bản vẽ bằng tay thùng 4350, còn bản vẽ thùng 4350 và thùng 4355 của Em post lên là của chính hãng do một người Mỹ trên một Forum Audio khác gửi cho Em đấy, chắc là bản vẽ tốt đấy. Dàn máy của Em đang nghe thì rất tốt, nghe rất phê, cám ơn Anh nhiều.

Quả nhiên là DD66000 nhìn thôi đủ máu rồi. Bác ơi lấy đâu ra Driver 1501AL để đóng, giá mua tại Nhật là 2200$/1 cái 1501AL còn Driver 1500AL là 1700$/1 cái, nếu muốn đóng sơ sơ tiền driver cho 4 chiếc luôn ship về VN chắc tốn 10.000$ rồi chưa kể công đóng thùng và 2 mid kèn và 2 tép nửa, chắc chít em quá . Nhưng không biết nó hay gấp 3 đến 4 lần thùng 4350 dùng 4 cái 2235H giá tại VN là 950$/2cái mới 100% 4 cái thiệt hại mất 1900$ cộng thêm 2 cái 414 Altec hay 515B cũng không bao nhiêu nhưng âm thanh Em nghỉ không kém hơn DD66000 nhiều đâu Bác vì thùng 4350 và 4355 mid và Bass tach rời 2 đường còn DD66000 mid và Bass cùng dùng chung một đường do 2 cái 1501Al chơi. Phân tích cho vui thế chứ ước mơ thì cứ ước mơ đi các Bác, không biết bao giờ thực hiện được cặp 4350 hay 4355 cũng mãn nguyện rồi.

Tks bác nhiều. Trước đây em dùng projector để xem đá bóng cho đã nhưng khốn nỗi cái bóng đèn của nó hết tuổi thọ, em kiếm mãi mấy tháng nay vẫn chưa ra nên phải dùng tạm cái tv này.

The JBL AL1500 drivers are from JBL's current state-of-the-art loudspeaker system - the K2-S9800. It is a three-way bass reflex system designed from a clean sheet of paper and the drivers were specifically developed for it. Our intent is to develop as high performing a system as our skills will let us with these drivers.
We currently have a group of 40 people actively involved with this project, with a wide range of experience to draw upon. We have already assigned a technical director with deep experience in working with JBL transducers. In addition, we have consulted with the engineering staff at JBL to gain insight into the strengths of the drive units in order to make optimal use of them. Nonetheless, we thought there may be interest in the audio community in sharing in our opportunity, or at least follow what we are up to.

Development of the 1500AL traces back to the first K2 low frequency driver, the 1400Nd. That driver was originally developed in 1989 for the K2-S9500 by Doug Button, currently Vice President of Research and Development at JBL Professional. The intent was to go “all out” in the design of a linear, low distortion, high output driver.

The 1400Nd driver, and subsequent K2 systems that employed it, were a stunning success. However, Doug was not completely satisfied. Design work for the K2-S9800 and its transducers began in 1999. The focal point of this system was to be an Alnico magnet woofer with an underhung coil. Alnico had been the magnetic material of choice for JBL from its very inception until the late 1970’s. In 1978, a civil war in Zaire resulted in the temporary embargo of the commercial supply of cobalt that was a primary ingredient in Alnico. Over a one year period, virtually every loudspeaker manufacturer was forced to switch to more readily available ferrite magnets.

Initially, this magnetic material presented problems compared to Alnico. It was less powerful by weight, requiring much more magnetic material than an equivalent Alnico. It was more susceptible to flux modulation caused by voice coil currents and more susceptible to flux loss due to heating. None of these constraints were absolute. Through innovative engineering (eg. SFG, VGC and SVG motors), JBL was able to develop ferrite magnet drivers that exceeded the performance of the previous Alnico versions.

This became the design goal for the 1500AL. The intent was to end up with a bass driver with the lowest distortion possible while retaining the efficiency and dynamic response that were the hallmarks of JBL. However, there was one major disadvantage in Alnico loudspeakers that would have to be addressed – the susceptibility to permanent demagnetization due to overpowering.
This phenomenon is a result of variability in strength of the permanent magnetic field caused by interference from the voice coil’s electromagnetic field. This is referred to as flux modulation and is a leading cause of distortion in any dynamic loudspeaker. The electromagnetic field generated in the coil pushes against the global magnetic field set up by the permanent magnet and return circuit, causing it to “bend”. Under normal operating conditions, Alnico magnets actually resist this bending better than most other magnet materials. However, should this shift become large enough, it will exceed the coercivity of Alnico and cause it to partially demagnetize.
Doug Button realized that this same technology could be extended to control flux modulation to such a degree that the coercivity in an Alnico magnet would never be exceeded. He specified a huge copper shorting ring that would buck any changes in the global field that was induced by the voice coil signal. The result was that the major drawback of using Alnico for a loudspeaker magnet had been completely eliminated.
Nonetheless, Doug was not done in setting the design parameters for the 1500AL. There remained the previously identified issue of midband loss in output and a more subtle form of flux modulation that was not addressed with the large shorting ring. Doug would devise an ingenious solution that would resolve both of these issues – a lamination of copper and steel rings applied to the outside diameter of the voice coil gap.
With this final attribute, the conceptual design for the 1500AL was set. However, there was now the formidable task of developing the concept into a production driver. Responsibility for this would fall upon Jerry Moro, Senior Transducer Engineer for JBL Consumer Products. Jerry recognized that for the dynamic range requirement of modern digital sources, the driver would have to accommodate large excursions. A large coil would be required, but to maintain the underhung topology, there would need to be a gap depth of unprecedented proportions. Ultimately, a 0.8” long coil would be suspended in a 1.5” deep gap. This would accommodate 1” of peak to peak excursion. The magnetic energy requirements to provide a reasonable flux density in such a deep gap was enormous. It resulted in an Alnico magnet of massive proportions. An Alnico slug weighing over 5lbs became the core of the motor structure. The overall structure would weigh over 30lbs.

The net result is a woofer that arguably has lower levels of power compression than any other loudspeaker of its size. It can sustain maximum output levels of 118db with minimal distortion. Testing at a 110db output level revealed midband distortion to be down 50db, or around 0.3%. In summary, the 1500AL sets an unprecedented standard for accuracy, dynamic response and freedom from distortion.
